Nov. 20 - Scarf and food drive for Shepherd's of Good Hope

Hi Families,

First please let me take a moment to tell you how awesome you are! We made EIGHT boxes for Operation Christmas Child last week, and our goal was four. THANK YOU!! The Guides seemed to really enjoy making up the packages for children in need.

Also, we got a bit behind on the creative craft badge work. We will pick up where we left off at our Nov. 27th meeting and push our work on the International Day of the Girl challenge to December 4.

This week (Nov. 20), a representative from the Shepherds of Good Hope mission will meet with the Guides to tell us a bit about what they do. We will also be collecting canned food items for the organization, as well as making scarves out of polar fleece to donate. If you have a pair of fabric scissors that we could borrow for the evening we would really appreciate it. Any non-perishable food items would also be very welcome.

Coming up: December 6 Manotick Christmas parade. If you Guide is interested in being part of the Girl Guide parade float please let Jen or Lisa know.

Yours in Guiding,
Jen, Lisa and Alice
